I thought your body would cleanse itself of environmental toxins like pesticides, food additives, excess minerals and vitamins? I been hearing a lot about a whole body cleanse.

Certain medicines and herbs may not react well together and this is where your homework comes in. In this article I will do my best to give you the most accurate information I can but if you are unsure, consult a medical practitioner.

Here are lists of herbs that may help to detox and feed the body:

Wormwood- cleanses the colon of worms and also works as a mild sedative. (Should not be taken by women who are pregnant or nursing).

Black walnut husk- cleanses the intestines of parasites, helps in digestion, works well in fungal infections.

Cloves- Also aids in digestion, clears out parasites.

Cascara Sagrada- works as a laxative to help people who suffer from constipation, a great colon cleanser. (Do not use on a regular basis as it can be habit forming. Follow manufacturer instructions.)

Cayenne Pepper- a wonderful herb that does many things including; helps the heart, kidneys, lungs, stomach, aids in digestion and is good for sinus problems, colds and sore throats. Cayenne is rich in folic acid, vitamins B1, B2, B3 and B6, vitamin A and C.

A good multi vitamin and mineral supplement is recommended to help reduce free radical damage and give important nutrients to the body. NOTE: minerals should be taken at a different time from vitamins because some minerals will cancel out some of the vitamins.

Intake of clean fresh water is vital in not only in the cleansing process, but also in necessary hydration for the body. This is so important that if you did nothing else than drink eight glasses of water per day, you would be much farther ahead. You would not expect a toilet to flush without water, so it is with your body. You need water to flush toxins and waste from the body.

To keep indoor air clean you can get a good ion air purifier and a good vacuum with a Hepa filter. (Spraying the air with perfumed air cleaner products is not recommended because it does not take pollutants out of the air).

Ionic foot baths are also good for helping the body to detox and assist in the reduction of pain of all sorts.

Negative ions are very beneficial for a body and are in abundance in forests, fast moving rivers and water falls or just strolling down the beach. (The footbath mimics this) Get out of the city once in a while and rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit and get well!

The Three Day Detox Diet

3 Body Cleanse/Detox

Your human body is kind of like a car because harmful deposits pile up and it could soon cause damage to your well being. If you want to clean your system just as soon as possible, one method you should try is a three day detox diet.

Over the next three days you will eat only fruits or vegetables. These should only be eaten raw so forget about cooking them.

Also you should forget about drinking any coffee, tea or even sodas and have just water or juice that is freshly squeezed.

So you will not feel hungry, you can plan your menu so you know what to serve for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you think these do not taste good, just keep an open mind and who know? You might get to like it.

In each meal, don’t just stick with one variant but mix others as well as this will ensure that you get the right amount of nutrients. Since you will need some protein, add some nuts and sprouting beans if you have them in the kitchen.

One example will be to include a cup of whole grains like brown rice together with buckwheat and  amaranth. You can surely mix this with some servings of fruits and vegetables. If you have never tried this before, it would not hurt to eat one of these raw.

Another example will be to make a salad. If you want to add salad dressing, use either natural oils or vinegar. Examples of natural oil include coconut virgin oil, fish oil or olive oil.

There are other recipes you can make aside from the two mentioned so do some research or bring out one of your old cookbooks.

In addition to eating fruits and vegetables, you will also have to take 2 doses of kidney and liver tonic. You can make this at home by mixing two cups of dandelion, a clove of fresh garlic, chamomile or fennel tea. A few other concoctions include drinking pure vegetable juice like carrot or beetroot, a medium bunch of black grapes, or two cups of parsley or yellow tea.

Water is very important in the detox diet so make sure you drink lots of it for the next 3 days. If you have some fruits at home, put them in the juicer which is a good substitute for your water intake. The objective of keeping yourself hydrated is to help you flush out the toxins through your urine or waste.

Any diet you will ever hear about will tell you that this should always be combined with an exercise program. Something light which you can start doing is walking for about 20 to 30 minutes. This should help increase your metabolism, work up a sweat and give you increased levels of energy.

After around three days, you can now go back to your regular diet. Did you really expel those toxins out of your system? That is very hard to say because scientists don’t have a clue whether this actually has happened or not.

Some people say that you should do this once a month as a way to regulate the toxins, but if you want to find a long term solution rather than a quick fix, make some lifestyle changes because this is much better than a three day detox diet.

What is Cleanse?

Cleansing is a part of any comprehensive health regime. The numerous toxins in our lives – pollution in the air, pesticides and food preservatives, side effects from pharmaceutical drugs and medical treatments, and chemicals in our water – all tend to leave residue in the body and can contribute to slower metabolism, low immunity, weight gain, chronic pain, tiredness and stress.

Cleansing the body of these toxins can bring relief of chronic pain, swelling, fatigue, allergies, attention deficit, and improve virtually all aspects of mental and physical health.

Two Kinds of Cleanses: Supplements or Dietary

There are hundreds of different ways to perform a cleanse, depending on the goals, current health and lifestyle of the person doing the cleansing.
